2015 Purple Heart Day Resolution

August 7, 2015

On August 7, 1782, General George Washington issued general orders for the Badge of Military Merit. Later, in 1932, the Badge of Military Merit was resurrected into the Purple Heart.

Continuing the tradition of honoring those wounded in battle, Governor Rick Scott has signed the 2015 Purple Heart Day Resolution, honoring Florida’s Purple Heart recipients and the families of the fallen.
