About Veterans’ Education
The Florida State Approving Agency for Veterans’ Education and Training (SAA) is an agency within the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs and is responsible for approving and monitoring programs of education and training offered within the state to those who are eligible for GI Bill® education benefits. The SAA works closely with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and follows federal and state laws, regulations, and procedures in administering the approval of programs of education and training.
State Approving Agency (SAA)
The Florida SAA is responsible for approving programs in Florida educational and training institutions for GI Bill® education benefits. We are also responsible for promoting and safeguarding quality education and training programs for veterans and other eligible persons, for ensuring greater education and training opportunities for veteran beneficiaries, for protecting the integrity of the GI Bill® and for assisting VA in preventing fraud, waste and abuse in the administration of the GI Bill®. Most education and training programs must have SAA approval before veterans and other eligible persons may receive GI Bill® benefits for those programs.
