On-the-Job Training & Apprenticeship
Approval Process for On-the-Job Training & Apprenticeship
The law provides that VA may pay educational assistance to Veterans and other eligible individuals while they pursue approved apprenticeships or other on-the-job training programs provided by employers (private or public).
In a division of approval authority, VA approves apprenticeship and other OJT programs offered by agencies of the federal government. All other programs are either approved by the SAA. Registered Apprenticeship programs are approved by the U.S. Department of Labor (DoL). Representatives of those programs should see the link below and contact the Florida State Approving Agency for approval to participate in the GI Bill®. The Program Director for Florida’s Registered Apprenticeship Programs is Richard “Ted” Norman III, Ed.S and he may be reached at 850.245.9039.
