Tallahassee to host Governor’s Veterans Service Award Presentation

The Governor’s Veterans Service Award, honoring Florida’s honorably discharged veterans, will be presented by Gov. Rick Scott to Tallahassee-area veterans during the May 10 Cabinet Meeting at the Capitol.  The 2016 Memorial Day Resolution from Governor Scott and the Cabinet will also be unveiled as part of the presentation.

Date: Tuesday, May 10, 2016

Time: 9:00 a.m. (Check-In outside Cabinet Room prior to the meeting.)

Location: Cabinet Meeting Room, Lower Level, Capitol Building, Tallahassee

Eligibility: Any Florida resident who is either serving honorably as a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, the U.S. Coast Guard, or the U.S. Reserve Forces or any Florida resident who has been honorably discharged or retired from active duty as a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Florida National Guard, the U.S. Reserve Forces, or Merchant Mariners with veteran status is eligible. Veterans need not have served in a combat zone to be eligible. Veterans who received the award in previous years are not eligible.

Note: Veterans must provide some form of identification that validates their veteran status. (Includes: DD-214, VA ID Card, Retirement ID, Military ID, etc…)

Please allow adequate time for local area parking and Capitol security screening.
